Nathan Hogendoorn, Mechanical Engineering Intern
I’m a final-year Mechanical Engineering student following the High-Tech Engineering track, currently completing my master’s thesis at Memsys. My research focuses on enhancing the efficiency of vibrational piezoelectric energy harvesters by integrating auxetic structures. These structures enable multi-directional deformation, allowing the piezoelectric material to bend not only in the primary direction but also laterally. This approach aims to boost energy output and open up new design possibilities for compact, high-performance harvesters.
