Hi!

I’m Hugo, 35 years old, originally from the area near Arnhem in the Netherlands. I’m a proud husband and father of two amazing kids. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, playing guitar, running and cycling, and—whenever I get the chance—heading out on the water to sail.

My academic background is in mechanical and maritime engineering. Over the years, I’ve built a career in offshore construction, taking on roles in R&D, operations, and project management. I later founded and scaled an Industrial IoT sensor company, navigating it through its formative startup years. Now, I’m thrilled to be part of the journey at MEMSYS.

What drives me is making meaningful impact through technology—especially hardware. I’m particularly drawn to complex tech: the kind that sit at the edge of physics and its constraints. I’m passionate about rallying others around the impactful mission we have and get them to see the vast potential that lies ahead.

I’m also fascinated by the interplay between technology and market dynamics—understanding what truly creates value, and why certain solutions succeed where others don’t.

With the talented team at MEMSYS, I’m excited to contribute to our mission: making vibration energy harvesting widely accessible across a broad range of applications.
